The Civil War was a time of great national division. While many are familiar with the Civil War issues that split major religious denominations into Northern and Southern wings, fewer are aware of the story of the Freemasons. Through examples from their own publications, Jason Mead will show how the Southern Freemasons viewed their Northern brethren. Mead is a Ph.D. candidate in U.S. History at the University of Tennessee.
The Brown Bag Lecture is sponsored by 21st Mortgage and is free to the public. Guests are invited to bring a lunch. Drinks will be available for purchase.
